The
hand-made designs of Michael Barsanti's pottery emphasize
a synthesis of traditional forms. Each piece uses
a single glaze, allowing the texture and edges of
the form to determine variations in color. Wherever
there is an edge, the glaze thins and flows off,
producing a different color.
Michael
Barsanti received his M.F.A. at the University of Minnesota,
where he had the opportunity to study with Warren
McKenzie. His home and studio are in Sharon, Vermont.
Michael has served
on the
faculty of The School
of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, since 1981. |
